Aiding Executions?:
How Aid Donors and the UN Enable the Death Penalty for Drug Offences

Developed in partnership with Harm Reduction International (HRI), this report follows the money behind international aid funding for drug control programmes in countries that retain the death penalty for drug-related offences.

At a time when drug-related executions account for around 46% of all confirmed executions globally, it traces funding flows that link international aid to programmes associated with executions and examines the role of donor governments, UN agencies, and international institutions in supporting these initiatives.

In doing so, it raises important questions about accountability, human rights, and international aid policy.
